John Edward Chambers Jr.
JEFFERSON – John Edward Chambers Jr., 65 died June 5, 2008 at the Guardian Care Facility in Monroe, N.C. A funeral service was held June 11, 2008 at Rock Hill AME Zion Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Chambers, born in Chesterfield County, a son of john Chambers and the late Eva Mae Williams Chambers. He attended the Chesterfield County public school system. He worked various jobs during his tenure, but there was none he loved more than truck driving. He drove trucks for over 25 years. He was a kind, fun, and loving man. If there was anything he could do to assist anyone, he would.
Surviving are Susie Bracey of Jefferson; sons Michael Chambers, Rickey Chambers, Petey Bracey, Thomas (Tina) McBride, Lamont (Janice) Brace, and Kenny (Karen) Bracey all of Pageland; daughters, Angela (Arthur) Flythe, Loretta (Bobby) Lowery, Josetta (Kenneth) Funderburk, Twanna (Terry) Sowell all off Pageland, Jackie (Lamont) Miller of El Paso, TX, and Jacqueline (Currey) Crouch of Jefferson; a very special grandson, Ahmadrae Dae’John Bracey who he helped raise; 41 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene (Naomi) Chambers of Monroe, N.C., Joe Lee (Norma Jean) Chambers of Charlotte, N.C., and Mitchell (Mary) Chambers of Pageland; sisters, Mildred Chambers, Betty Tyson both of Monroe, Shirley Fairley of Pageland, Lucille Butler of Charlotte; five aunts, Katherine Sowell, Janie Blakeney, Irene Chambers all of Pageland, Elouise Williams and Magalene Williams Parker both of Washington, DC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Daisy Lee Fair
CHESTERFIELD – Daisy Lee Fair, 76 died June 6, 2008. A funeral service was held June 10, 2008 at Rock Spring Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Fair, born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Hattie Moser. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Edward Eugene Fair. She attended the House of Prayer Church in Ruby for many years and she retired from the Chesterfield Manufacturing Company after many years of loyal service. She was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Fair, five sisters and seven brothers.
Surviving are: sons, Henry (Gladys) Fair of Ruby, Jerry (Jeannie) Fair of Marietta, GA, Odell (Diane) Fair of Camden, and James (Dalphine) Fair of Mt. Croghan; daughter, Wanda (Paula) Amos of Greensboro, N.C.; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Johnnie Frank Jordan
KERSHAW - Johnnie Frank Jordan, 73 died June 6, 2008. A funeral service was held June 9, 2008 at Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church, Jefferson, with burial in church cemetery.
Jordan born, in Jefferson, a son of the late Jack Edward and Rosa Lee Mills Jordan. He was a retired employee of Springs Industries with 40 years of service, and was a member of Twin Pines Freewill Baptist Church. Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Reverend Cecil Jordan.
Surviving are: son, Johnnie Frank Jordan, Jr. of Jefferson; daughter, Robin Autry of Kershaw; granddaughter, Amanda Autry and great-granddaughter, Faith Autry; sister, Annie Mae Ganiey of Lancaster, S.C.; special son, Franklin Mills of Heath Springs, S.C.; special friend: Sadie Barrett of Kershaw, S.C.

Floyd Franklin ‘Butch’ Melton
PATRICK — Floyd Franklin “Butch” Melton, 58, died June 5, 2008 at his home. A funeral service was held June 9, 2008 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, interment will be private.
Melton, born in Lilesville, N.C., a son of the late Herman and Daisy Bell Melton. He was a graduate of Lilesville High School and was a retired refrigeration and air conditioning technician. Butch was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Dick and Frances Anderson.
Surviving are wife, Ruby Johnson Melton of the home; sister, Katherine Connor of La Pine, OR; Also four Nieces and one Nephew.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ethel Johnson Miles
PAGELAND — Ethel Johnson Miles, 95, died June 10, 2008. A funeral service for was held June 13, 2008 at Long Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Miles, is the daughter of the late James Bascom and Pearl Miles Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Miles; brothers, Murdick Johnson, Burkett Johnson and Bill Johnson; sisters, Mettie Terry, Anthel Sellers and Flora Horton.
Surviving are: sister and brother-in-law, Lola and George Kirkley of Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert Lee Smith
CHESTERFIELD — Robert Lee Smith, 80, died June7, 2008. A funeral service was held June 10, 2008 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery. Smith, born in Chesterfield, S.C. a son of the late Robert James and Dora Birtie Oliver Smith. He was a retired Farmer and Road Construction employee and was a former member of the S.C. National Guard. Smith was a member Oakland Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was married to the late Edna Dretzel Smith and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ansel, T.D., and Dock Smith
.Surviving are: daughter, Jennifer; sisters, Emma Mae McLaurin of Chesterfield, S.C. and Margaret Williams of Morven, N.C.; Also a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Linda Burch Tyler
RUBY – Linda Burch Tyler, 85, of Dale City, Va., and formerly of Ruby, S.C., died June 5, 2008. A graveside service was held June 10, 2008 at Ruby Cemetery.
Tyler, born in Ruby, S.C. a daughter of the late Tristram Hampton and Hattie Janette Rollings Burch. She was a retired Nurse. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Fay B. McNab, Floried B. Hurd, Lucille Burch, Mary Lola Burch, and Jennie B. Hartman, and by her brothers, Dennis Hampton Burch, Franklin Burch, Thomas E. Burch, and Emsley F. Burch.
Surviving are: Husband, Otis B. Tyler of the home; son, Barry Burch Tyler of the home; also many Nieces and Nephews.

Mary ‘Madia’ Blakeney Wallace
PAGELAND – Mary “Madia” Blakeney Wallace, 85 died June 2, 2008 at her home. A funeral service was held June 7, 2008 at Salem United Methodist Church, where she was a member with burial in the church cemetery.
Wallace, born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Sadie Robinson Blakeney. She was employed as a textile worker, and later she retired as a hostess in the restaurant industry. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She instilled the values of respectability, honesty, and always honoring Christ as the Savior. She taught her family to love one another.
Surviving are: sons, Sam (Elaine) Wallace of Charlotte, N.C. and Eugene Wallace of Rock Hill; daughters, Mildred (Ebenezer) Eshun and Bernice Hall, both of Rock Hill; sisters, Alma Nicholson of Pageland, and Esther (William) Miller of Monroe; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, an d any other relatives and dear friends.
