John Lorenzo Allred
CHESTERFIELD — John Lorenzo Allred, 54, died Oct. 2, 2007. A funeral service was held Oct. 5 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chesterfield Cemetery.
Allred, born in Cheraw, was a son of John J. and Tallie Mae White Allred. He was a former truck driver.
He was preceded in death by nephews John E. Miller and CWO-3 Michael Lee Hartwick Jr.
Surviving are son Phillip Allred, of Chesterfield; parents; sisters Cheryl (Kenneth) Miller, of Cheraw, Vickie (Steven) Cobb, of Parkville, Md., and Nancie (Charlie) Freeman, of California City, Calif.; nephews Dr. Kenneth Miller, Quentin Miller, Robert Hartwick and Richard Freeman; and nieces Rachel and Cassandra Freeman.

Sheila Ann Connors Bonilla
CHESTERFIELD — Sheila Ann Connors Bonilla, 55, died Sept. 27, 2007.
Bonilla, born in Quincy, Ill., was a daughter of the late Carl and Edna Dora Williams Connor.
Surviving are son Timothy Aldrich; daughter Cheryl Ann Shepherd, of Chesterfield; and grandchildren Matthew Eli and Quincy Antonio Shepherd.

Charles F. Caulder
CHERAW — Charles F. Caulder, 82, died Oct. 1, 2007 at his home. A funeral service was held Oct. 3 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Caulder born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Allie Jackson and Nezzie Rushing Caulder. He was a graduate of Cheraw High School and attended Clemson University. Caulder was a retired teacher with Cheraw High School. He was a Sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, having completed 208 flights over the Hump as radio operator and mechanic. Caulder was a lifelong faithful member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, where he served as permanent Trustee and was chairman of the Cemetery Committee for many years. He enjoyed working on and restoring antique and classic cars.
Caulder was first married to the late Nathalie Short Caulder and then to the late Dezzie Hall Caulder, and was also preceded in death by a brother Edward L. Caulder, and by sisters Valdese Patterson and Katie Grant.
Surviving are son the Rev. Ronnie (Linda) Caulder, of Cheraw; daughters Sherrie (Jerry) Chapman and Cathey (Randy) Bedford, both of Cheraw, and Susan (John) Jennings, of Columbia; brother Jack Caulder, of Auburn,; sister Janie L. Howle, of Cheraw; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Abbie Gandy Davis

CHESTERFIELD — Abbie Gandy Davis, 70, died Oct. 1, 2007. A graveside service was held Oct. 4 at Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Davis was born in Hartsville, S.C., a daughter of the late Leo and Blondell Timms Gandy. She was a graduate of Hartsville High School and Florence-Darlington Tech. and was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing Co. Davis was a member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church. She was first married to the late John D. Davis and then to the late Franklin “Big Frank” Davis Jr. and was preceded in death by brother Wayne Gandy.
Surviving are sons John Kyle (Robin) Davis, of Cheraw, and Franklin (Timmie) Davis III, of McFarlan, N.C.; daughters Amanda (Nathan Johnson) Davis, of Chesterfield, and Margie Lynn Davis, of Keavy, Ky.; brother Jerry (Sarah) Gandy, of Hartsville; grandchildren John Holden Davis, Kylie Marie Davis, Seth Gunner Johnson, Heather Lynn Davis, and Chris Smith.

Carolyn Margaret Mewshaw
CHESTERFIELD — Carolyn Margaret Mewshaw, died Oct. 4, 2007. A funeral service was held Oct. 6 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mewshaw lived in Pasedena, Md., but more recently in Chesterfield. After high school graduation she entered the Civil Air Patrol and then began her career as a U.S. Postal carrier. A devoted wife and mother, her childhood love of Girl Scouts was passed to her girls, as she became a leader for many years. Her life encompassed many adventures. She made many friends and was a special part of the lives she touched, but, most of all, her love for family is her greatest legacy.
She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Marie Nieberlein; brother Joseph and granddaughter Lauren Anne Patch.
Surviving are husband of 48 years, Harry Clifton Mewshaw; daughters Donna (Brian) Muser, of Hanover, Pa., Robin (Philip) Patch, of Fredricksburg, Va., Karen (Gary) Cress, of Crownsville, Md., JoAnn (Shawn) Dimaggio, of Westminster, Md.; grandchildren Ronald, Barry Corey and Kaitlyn Muser, Allison and Hillary Patch, Erin and Gary Cress, Shawn Jr., Steven, Anthony, Rebekah and Alex Cress; great grandchild Damien James.

Georgianna Brown Pate
PAGELAND — Georgianna Brown Pate, 85, died Sept. 25, 2007 at CMC-Union, Monroe, N.C. A funeral service was held Sept. 29 at Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church with burial in the church Cemetery.
Pate, born in Chesterfield County, was a daughter of the late George Henry and Emma Brown. She attended school in Jefferson and was a member of Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church.
She was preceded in death by husband David Pate and son Randolph Brown.
Surviving are son, Jimmy Brown, of Pageland; daughters Dianne (Billy) Chamber of Pageland and Shirley (Patrick) Sekle, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother Evan (Maggaline) Brown, of Charlotte, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Naomi Robinson
PAGELAND — Naomi Robinson, 95, died Sept. 24, 2007 at CMC-Union, Monroe, N.C. A funeral service was held Sept. 30 at Flemming Funeral Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Robinson, born in Pageland, was a daughter of the late Aaron and Susie Lockhart Robinson.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Surviving are children Utha Lee (Pete) Louallen, of Washington, D.C., Peggie (Robert) James, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Katrina (Pastor Earl) Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; Jimmie Robinson of Pageland; grandchildren Ronald (Sherry) Robinson, of Monroe, N.C., Pastor Howard (Wanonia) Blakeney, of Marion, S.C., Michael (Lisa) Blakeney, of Bennettsville, Jamie Robinson, of Monroe, N.C., Debbie (Earl) Louallen, Peaches (George) Aiken, Regina Woods, Edwin (Sonja) Louallen, Rosalind (Leotis) Phillips, Earl Williams Jr., Jimmie (Mary Ann) Robinson Jr., Karen (Donald) Jones, Natalie Louallen, Eric Williams, Cynthia James and Antoine James; 32 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

B.J. Steele
CHESTERFIELD — B.J. Steele, 79, died Sept. 28, 2007 at home. A graveside service was held Sept. 30 at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Steele, born in Anson County, N.C. was a son of the late Julius and Mary Caroline Baker Steele. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are wife of 60 years, Frances Faulkner Steele; sons Gary Steele, of Marshville, N.C. and Chris Steele, of Morven, N.C.; daughters Donna Burdette, of Lancaster, S.C., and Tina Steele, of Polkton, N.C.; sister Ruby Trexler, of Wadesboro,N.C.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Carol Marie Turley
RUBY — Carol Marie Turley, 62, died Sept. 30, 2007. A graveside service was held Oct. 2 at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, N.C.
Turley was a daughter of Westie Carpenter Kearse and the late William Robinson. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are husband Robert Turley; mother Westie Kearse, of Lawndale, N.C.; sons Donald Whitten, of Kannapolis, N.C., Gary Whitten, of Cheraw, Shawn Whitten, of Wallace, S.C., and Tybrent Whitten, of Monroe, N.C.; daughter Denise Bowers, of Burnsville, N.C.; brother Lee Robinson, of Gastonia, N.C.; sister Katie Millson, of Lawndale, N.C.; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild.
