Shirley Moore Deese
MT. CROGHAN - Shirley Moore Deese, 45, died Sept. 16, 2007. A funeral service was held Sept. 18 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Ruby Church of God Cemetery.
Deese, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of Willie Price Moore and the late Ray Edward Moore. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are husband Larry Wayne Deese; mother; brother Billy Ray (Jackie) Moore of Lancaster, S.C.; sisters Diane (Ricky) Melton of Ruby, Ann Hancock, Penny Lindsey and Lorrie Barrera all of Pageland; mother-in-law, Martha Deese of Ruby; sister-in-law Jean (David) Jenkins of Mt. Croghan; brother-in-law Tony Deese of Ruby; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Berte Morris Moore
CHESTERFIELD - Berte Morris Moore, 96, died Sept. 14, 2007 at the Bethea Baptist Home. A funeral service was held Sept. 17 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Sandy Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Moore, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of the late Mark and Martha Campbell Morris. She attended Campbell Junior College and was a retired resident counselor at Winthrop University and St. Andrews Presbyterian College. She was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and had been a resident of Bethea Baptist Home since 1988.
She was preceded in death by brother Archie Morris; sisters Bessie Jamieson and Vera Morris.
Surviving are sister Evelyn Adams of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Dennis Allen Nolan
WALLACE, S.C. - Dennis Allen Nolan, 55, died Sept. 15, 2007. A funeral service was held Sept. 17 at Forest Pines Free Will Baptist Church, in Cheraw, with burial in the church cemetery.
Nolan, born in Bennettsville, S.C., was a son of Smith Nolan and the late Mattie Sessoms Stovall. He was a retired welding foreman and a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AMVETS Chapter 177 and was an avid fisherman. He was a faithful member of Forest Pines Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by son Patrick Allen Nolan and brother Billy Ray Stovall.
Surviving are wife of 34 years Debbie Ward Nolan; son Sky (Hope) Nolan of Wallace, S.C.; daughter, Buffie (Jeff) McClendon of Wallace, S.C.; father; brothers Ronnie Stovall and Fabin Stovall of Sandersville, Ga. and Mitchell Nolan of Wallace, S.C.; sister Jo Ann Martin of Wallace, S.C.; six grandchildren Brianna Lee, Skylar Lee, Hayes McClendon, Grant McClendon, Hadley Moore, and Alexis Cooper.

Clifton H. ‘Clif’ Robbins
RUBY — Mr. Clifton H. “Clif” Robbins, 73, died Sept. 16, 2007. A funeral service was held Sept. 21 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oakland Baptist Church cemetery.
Robbins, born in Holland, Mo., was a son of the late Ernest Clifton and Lorene James Robbins. He was a retired Insurance Salesman and a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church. Mr. Robbins was a former member of the Exchange Club, Lions Club, and the Kiwanas.
He was preceded in death by brother Cletis Robbins.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jenny Gardner Robbins; three daughters, Barbara (Dan) Ward of Churubusco, IN, Karen (Steve) Dralle, of Fort Meyers, Fl., and Alice (Ben) Gibson of Sunnyvale, CA; brother Mack (Phyllis) Robbins of Monroe, N.C.; three sisters Velva Landi of Coloma, MI, Rose Henderson of Bangor, MI, and Dollie (Ronald) Jackson of Sturgis, MI; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jerry Dean Suggs
MONROE — Jerry Dean Suggs, 71, died Sept. 17, 2007. A funeral services was held Sept. 19 in Gordon Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Suggs, born in Stanly County, was a son of the late T.W. & Thelma Parker Suggs. He was a member of Pageland United Methodist Church and was retired from Windsor Windows of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by a son Wesley T. Suggs, a daughter-in-law Ginger A. Suggs, and an infant brother.
Surviving are wife Shirley Thomas Suggs; son Jeff (Cindy) Suggs; grandchildren Courtney and Allison Suggs, Tori and Kyle Anderson all of Marshville, N.C.; two brothers Bobby (Shirley) Suggs, and Ronald (Brenda) Suggs, all of Monroe, N.C. Boyd Tyner Jr.
PATRICK - Boyd Tyner Jr., 65, died Sept. 14, 2007 at his home. A funeral service was held Sept. 16 at Millers-Rivers- Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bay Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Tyner, born in Rockingham, N.C., was a son of the late Lloyd A. and Ellie Pressley Tyner. He was a retired employee of Delta Mills with 39 years of service and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by brother Floyd Tyner.
Surviving are son Stephen Boyd Tyner of Chesterfield; daughters, Marsha (Edward) Teal of Cheraw and Donna (Benny) Putnam of Hamlet, N.C.; brother Jimmy Tyner of Patrick; sisters Ruby Whitaker and Elaine Morton of Patrick; four grandchildren Mackenzie Teal, Heather Rhodes, Amber Rhodes and Benjamin Putnam.
