John W. Kee
PAGELAND— John W. Kee, 90, died Aug. 27, 2007.
A funeral service was held Aug. 30 at Union Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Kee, born in Lancaster County, was a son of the late Willie and Magnolia Carnes Kee. He was retired from Springs Industries and a member, former deacon, church secretary of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are wife of 67 yrs. Lois H. Kee; son, John Michael (Mike) Kee of Pageland; daughters, Dianne (Bobby) Kirkley of Jefferson, Pat (Roger) Price of Pageland, and Sue Helms of Pageland; brother Woodrow Kee of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Scott Watts, Karen Dorton, Dale Pricer, Steve Price, Dawn Kirkley and Stacy Kirkley; six great grandchildren.

Ben W. Mangum
CHESTERFIELD – Ben W. Mangum, 88, died Aug. 29, 2007. A funeral service was held Sept. 1 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial in Chesterfield cemetery.
Mangum, born in Chesterfield, was a son of the late Inglis Park and Sarah Funderburk Mangum. He was a graduate of Wingate College and was a former Clerk of Court of Chesterfield County. He was a captain in the US Air Force during WWII, serving in the European Theater. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sister, Laura M. Jordan of Chesterfield; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Beulah Mae Brigman Middleton
CHESTERFIELD— Mrs. Beulah Mae Brigman Middleton, 100, a resident of the Taylorsville House in Taylorsville, N.C., formerly of Chesterfield, died Aug. 27, 2007. A funeral services was held Aug. 31 at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Middleton born in Marlboro County, S.C., was a daughter of the late King E. and Katherine Hicks Brigman. She was a homemaker and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member and past president of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Cheraw Garden Club, was voted Woman of the Year in Chesterfield County, and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hildreth Middleton; two sons, William “Bill” Middleton and Dr. Lawrence P. “Larry” Middleton; a son-in-law, Horace G. Barlowe Jr.; a sister, Martha Lee; brothers, Alexander, Howard, Boyd, and Prentice Brigman.
Surviving are daughter, Kathryn Middleton Barlowe, of Taylorsville, N.C.; sisters, Flora B. Wade of Wilmingon, N.C., Francis B. Bogart, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Katie B. Peary, of Norfolk, V.A.; a brother, Monroe Brigman, of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Middleton, of Cheraw; grandchildren, Roslayn Kerins, Michael Barlowe, Barbara “Babs” Odom, William “Billy” Middleton, Joe Middleton, Jon Middleton, Eliza Sutherland, and Thomas Middleton; six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Gladys Therrell Sellers
RUBY— Gladys Therell Sellers, 87, died Aug. 26, 2007. A funeral service was held Aug. 29 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Sellers, born in Chesterfield County, was a daughter of the late Lewis and Leta Turnage Therrell. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and will always be remembered for her delicious homemade biscuits.
She was preceded in death by her husband David H. Sellers; five brothers, J.B., Clyde, Ben, Perry, and Buddy Therrell; four sisters, Evelyn Akers, Lib Reynolds, Myrtle Hunter, and Betty Ellis, and by her son-in-law Jackie Davis.
Surviving are sons, David H. (Catherine) Sellers, Jr. of Chesterfield and James (Debra) Sellers, of Ruby; daughters, Doris (Carroll) Cavett, of Pageland, and Carol Davis, of Mt. Croghan; sisters, Margaret Lisenby, of Chesterfield, and Geneva Godwin, of Dix, IL; six grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Leta Reynolds, and special nephews Robert Reynolds, Marshall Lisenby, Jerry Therrell, and Don Therrell. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, was in charge of the arrangements.

William ‘Jimmie’ Tisdale
CHESTERFIELD - William “Jimmie” Tisdale, 60, died Aug. 18, 2007. A funeral service was held Aug. 24 at Davidson Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Tisdale, born in Kingstree, S.C., was a son of the late Franklin Scott and Elvina T. Williams. After moving to Chesterfield from New Haven, CT, he became a long-time member of Davidson Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, and Men’s Choir. He was formerly employed with Crown Cork and Seal of Cheraw and also served as a volunteer fireman with the Ruby-Mt. Croghan Fire Department. He was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Tisdale and Jessie Williams and sister, Annie Longs.
Surviving are wife of twenty-four years, Evelyn; daughter, Donya Tisdale; grandson, Dorran Tisdale all of Chesterfield; brothers, David Tisdale of Rochester, NY, Theodore (Ann) of Salters, S.C., Solomon Williams, Clarence Tisdale and Nehemiah Williams all of Hollywood, Fla., Kenneth (Glenda) Nelson of Wilmington, N.C., Jessie (Alberta) Tisdale of Sumter, S.C., Sam (Rebecca) Tisdale and Milton (Debra) Tisdale of Greeleyville, S.C., Jean Arthur (Virginia) Williams of Camden, S.C. and Buddy Tisdale of Kingstree, S.C.; sisters, Sarah Williams of Hollywood, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends. Flemming Funeral Home, of Chesterfield, was in charge of the arrangements.
