Michael Paul Baker
PAGELAND – Michael Paul Baker, 19, died Nov. 6, 2007. A funeral service was held Nov. 10 at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Baker, born in Lancaster, S.C., was a son of Michael Lenzie Dunlap of Pageland and Connie Jo Baker of Morven,N.C. He was raised by grandparents David and Yvonne Blakeney of Pageland.
He was preceded in death by uncle David Blakeney, Jr.; grandfather Paul Baker; grandmother Fredonia Dunlap; cousin Tavish Dunlap.
Surviving along with parents and grandparents are son, TaKevius Baker of Pageland; daughter Kristina Burns of Alaska; sisters Taytanna Dunlap, Tayann Dunlap both of Marshville, N.C., Crystal Osbourne of Morven, N.C. and Samirra Bennett of Badin, N.C.; brothers Laquenton Baker of Morven, N.C. and Johnathan Ellotte of Winston-Salem, N.C.; niece Etrinity Baker of Morven, N.C.; grandmother Marilyn Baker of Morven, N.C.; grandfather Lenzie Adams of Charlotte, N.C.; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends T’Keyah Tyson, Brandon Ponds, Tenisha McGriff and Tristan Moore.
Flemming Funeral Home, Pageland, was in charge of the arrangements.

William Curtis ‘Chief’ Campbell
CHERAW – William Curtis “Chief” Campbell, 65, died Nov. 12, 2007. A memorial service was held Nov. 15 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.
Campbell, born in Bennettsville, S.C., was a son of the late George and Bessie Mae Hyatt Campbell. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and auctioneer.
He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Denise Campbell.
Surviving are wife Billie Sue Polston Campbell; sons, Lonnie (Cheryl) Campbell of Hartsville, S.C., Curtis (Anita) Campbell, Jr. of Cheraw, Jerry Campbell of Florence, S.C. and John (Devri) Campbell of Cheraw; daughter Pamela Akers of Cheraw; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, was in charge of the arrangements.

Noah Wade Hargett
PAGELAND – Noah Wade Hargett, 3 months old, died Nov. 9, 2007. A graveside service was held Nov. 12 at Zion United Methodist Church cemetery.
Surviving are parents Kenneth Wade and Brianna Kristine Hargett; brother Hugh Christopher Haney; grandparents Jimmy and Donna Hargett, Adam and Mary Eisenburg, Dale and Katherine Garrison, Joseph Polizzi; great grandparents Fadie S. Hargett, Lou & Arlene Polizzi; aunts Sandra Noblin, Karlin Polizzi; uncles Anthony Hargett, Joseph Polizzi, Jr., David, Daniel and Doug Garrison, Brian Hargett.

Margaret James Moore
CHESTERFIELD – Margaret James Moore, 82, died Nov. 9, 2007. A graveside service was held Nov. 11 at Zoar United Methodist Church cemetery.
Moore, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of the late Henry Phillip and Donar McLain James. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and was a patient caregiver.
She was preceded in death by husband Brooks M. Moore Sr.
Surviving are son, Brooks (Fritzi) M. Moore, Jr. of Chesterfield; grandson Brandon Heath Moore of Rock Hill, S.C.; brother Jadie James of Chesterfield; sisters Katherine Horne of Pageland, Nellie James and Elizabeth Wallace both of Chesterfield; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Weldon Short Sr.
CHESTERFIELD – Weldon Short Sr., 85, died Nov. 9, 2007 at the home of his loving daughter Hattie Davis. A funeral service was held Nov. 13 at New Zion Baptist Church with burial in Chesterfield Community cemetery.
Short, born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Nathaniel and Hattie Chapman Short. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent, President of Baptist Training Union. He served on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Choir, Deacon and Chairman of the Deacon Board. He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 on the Patrol Bombing squad in South Pacific. He was a Mason of the Forest Dale Lodge #476, an Eastern Star member of the Forest Dale Chapter #379 and a member of the American Legion Post #214.
He was preceded in death by wife Rosa Lee Little Short; son Melvin Short; brothers Wilbert, Nathaniel and Carl Short; daughter-in-law Lois Short.
Surviving are sons, Bobby and Weldon Short, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., George (Carolyn) Short of Wadesboro, N.C., William (Ida Mae) Short of Chesterfield and Rev. Rufus (Vivian) Short of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Hattie (Samuel) Davis of Charlotte, N.C. and Lorenda Rogers of Bennettsville, S.C.; 33 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Suzanne Barbara Alpaugh Sukovich
MT. CROGHAN - Suzanne Barbara Alpaugh Sukovich, 66, died Nov. 10, 2007 at her home. A private funeral service was held Nov. 15 at her home.
Sukovich, born in Summitt, N.J., was a daughter of the late Frederick and Barbara Ruth Schulz Alpaugh. She was a former owner of a cleaning contracting business.
She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Paul Sukovich.
Surviving are son, Richard Paul Sukovich Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla.; daughters Sherrie (Kenneth) Spencer of Saratoga Springs, NY and Bonnie (Tom) Garcia of Milford, NJ; brother Robert (Marion) Alpaugh of New York; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
