Adam Joseph Brock
CHERAW – Adam Joseph Brock, 19, died Aug. 4, 2007. A funeral service was held Aug. 6 at Pine View Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Brock, born in Rockingham, N.C., was a son of Timothy Glenn and Rachel Susan Roscoe Brock. He was a 2006 graduate of Chesterfield High School and was a member of the Rams Marching Band. He was a member of Pine View Baptist Church.
Brock was preceded in death by grandfathers Glenn Brock, Oscar Roscoe and Lewis Rendenna.
Surviving, along with parents, are brother Travis Brock of the home; grandmothers Ruth Rendenna, of Ansonville, N.C., and Loretta Roscoe, of Ruby; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joseph S. Lisenby
CHESTERFIELD – Joseph S. Lisenby, 64, died Aug. 2, 2007. A graveside service was held Aug. 9 at Mt. Level Baptist Church cemetery.
Lisenby, born in Chesterfield, was a son of the late Paul and Ida B. Ratliff.
His most rewarding work and hobby was his many years of baking and cooking for the Breenes Bakery, in Alexandria, Va. He loved to cook and bake for family, friends and others.
He was preceded in death by siblings Harry and Bobby Lisenby, Pearl Lisenby Silver, Pauline Lisenby Jackson, Calvin Lisenby, David, James and Robert Sellers.
Surviving are son Paul Brown; daughters Norma Jean Davrowski and Tara Brown, of Alexandria; brothers Carl Frank (Alvenia) Lisenby and Billy Lisenby, of Chesterfield; sisters Sarah (Jim) Barber, of Chesterfield, and Martha Ann Ashe, of Alexandria; grandchildren Korey Proctor and Tamea Carpenter; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Flemming Funeral Home, of Chesterfield, was in charge of the arrangements.

Patricia Lisenby Pittman
CHESTERFIELD – Patricia Lisenby Pittman, 60, died Aug. 5, 2007, at her home. A funeral service was held Aug. 8 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chesterfield Cemetery.
Pittman, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of the late Niven Bryan and Corinne McLain Lisenby. She was a graduate of Columbia College and was a teacher and media specialist for 34 years.
She was preceded in death by in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pittman and sister Joyce Lisenby Markusen.
She is survived by husband of 40 years Jackie Pittman; son William Michael Pittman, of Columbia; brother Larry B. (Kitt) Lisenby, of Chesterfield; nephew Bryan William (Erin) Markusen; niece Emma Joyce, and nephew Aidan James, of Wake Forest, N.C.

Sarah Chavis Shaw
WALLACE, S.C. – Sarah Chavis Shaw, 78, died Aug. 8, 2007. A funeral service was held Aug. 10 at True-Gospel Emmanuel Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery, in Wallace, S.C.
Shaw, born in Hopewell, Va., was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Jane Grant Chavis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales. Shaw was a member of the True-Gospel Emmanuel Holiness Church and was also a member of the WOW Peachtree Lodge No. 0966.
She was preceded in death by sister Vera Leviner and brothers Elijah and Junior Chavis.
Surviving are husband of 59 years Boyce H. Shaw; sons Larry (Kay) Shaw, of Gaston, Ala., James (Rhonda) Shaw, of Wallace, and Randy (Pam) Shaw, of Chesterfield; brothers Wayne Chavis, of Cheraw, and Frank Chavis Jr., of Wallace; sister Fannie Sylvia, of Cheraw; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.

Elaine Sellers Taylor
PAGELAND – Elaine Sellers Taylor, 87, died Aug. 10, 2007.
A funeral service was held Aug. 12 at Providence Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Taylor, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of the late W.A. “Bub” and Lettie Alliene Merriman Sellers.
She retired from Pageland Manufacturing Company and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband Keith Taylor, brother Rhett Sellers and sisters Madge Guthrie, Vera Burch, Doris Seegars, Dallas Gordon, and Celia Sellers.
Surviving are sons Joe (Beverly) Taylor, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Steve (Gayle) Taylor, of Pageland; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
