Betty M. Mills
PAGELAND – Betty M. Mills, 79, died March 22, 2007. A funeral service was held March 25 at Providence Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by daughters Shelia and Lindsey Mills, and grandson, Mitchell Tebo.
Surviving are son Randy (Elaine) Mills, of Lancaster, S.C.; daughters Vickie Fuller, of Charlotte, N.C. and Betsy (Joey) Plyler, of Pageland; sister Quay Jordan; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Gladys Ingram Roberts
CHERAW – Gladys Ingram Roberts, 81, died March 19, 2007. A funeral service was held March 22 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel in Chesterfield, with burial in Patrick Cemetery.
Roberts, born in Cheraw, was a daughter of the late James Harmon and Elizabeth Brown Ingram. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by first husband John Henry Gainey,and then to the late Charles Roberts; an infant son; brothers Clayton Ingram, Fairy Miles Ingram, William “Bill” Ingram, and James Ingram; and sisters Ruby Boone and Annie Jane Wilson.
Surviving are son James Robert “Sam” Gainey, of Randleman, N.C.; daughter Janice Kiser, of Cheraw; brothers James Ingram, of Lilesville, N.C. and Johnny Ingram, of Cheraw; sister Helen Ingram, of Cheraw; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Leila Gibson Rollins
RUBY – Leila Gibson Rollins, 83, died March 20, 2007 at her home. A funeral service was held March 23 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Rollins, born in Chesterfield County, was a daughter of the late D.F. “Doc” and Mary Eliza Davis Gibson. She was a former employee of Sacony Industries and a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, seamstress and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Everett Rollins; brothers Thurman, Nelson, Duncan, Frank, Newsom and Woodrow Gibson; and sisters Sarah Horne, Dora Brock, Leona Freeman and Nancy Sink.
Surviving are son James Calvin (Bonnie) Rollins, of Ruby; daughters Betty (Riley) Moses, and Emma (Bill) Lambert, of Ruby, Vivian (Ron) Moseley, of Aiken, S.C.; caregivers Jenny Melton, Martha Deese, Tammy Gordon and Louise Burch; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. William Mark Gibson
CAMDEN, S.C. – William Mark Gibson, 46, died March 3, 2007 following a sailboat accident on Lake Wateree. A private family graveside service was held March 20 at White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ruby. A worship service celebrating his life was held March 17, 2007 at White Oak Presbyterian Church, where he was a member.
Gibson, born in Chesterfield, was a son of Atha Lou Freeman Gibson and the late Billy G. Gibson. At an early age he moved with his family to Sanford, N.C. where he grew up. After graduating from Lee Senior High School, he attended Montreat College and then joined the U.S. Navy serving his country for 15 years and receiving numerous commendations.
He moved to Camden, graduated from Central Carolina Technical College, 2006, with degree in Environmental Engineering Technologies. He was looking forward to beginning work with the City of Columbia Water Department in mid-March. In addition to being a talented artist, he meticulously designed and crafted models of sailing vessels with intricate detail.
Surviving along with mother; sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence P. Snow, of Cheraw; uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Freeman, of Chesterfield; aunt Mary G. Miller, of Irmo, S.C.; six cousins; navy buddy Chin Mendez of Elizabeth, N.C. and his steadfast, furry, companion, Gigi. Memorials can be sent to S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources, Camden Fire Dept., Kershaw County Fire Service or White Oak Presbyterian Church Stained Glass Window Fund.

Paul E. Ogburn
LEXINGTON, N.C. – Paul E. Ogburn, 88, died March 17, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center, in Salisbury, N.C. after a brief illness.
A memorial service was held March 24 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Tyro, N.C.
Ogburn, born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Robert Earl and Odessa Evans Ogburn. He served in the Army as a medic in the Phillippines during WWII, he was an agent for Reserve Life Insurance Co. in Charlotte, N.C. and later as a superintendent for Daniels Construction Company in Salisbury, N.C. After retiring, he continued to work on the family farm raising crops and cattle. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by brother James Ogburn.
Surviving are wife Jaxie Sin Ogburn; sons Richard Paul Ogburn and Kevin (Stacy) Ogburn, of Lexington, N.C.; daughter Mary Jeanene Ogburn Sink, of Lexington, N.C.; sisters Opal Ogburn, of Charlotte, N.C., Elaine Davis, of Charleston, S.C., Jean (Blake) Graves, of Charlotte, N.C.
