Tony Lee Blackwell
LANCASTER, S.C. – Tony Lee Blackwell, 51, of Edgemoor, died June 14, 2007. A funeral service was held June 18 at White Springs Baptist Church with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Blackwell, born in Kershaw, was a son of Quincy Bynum “Buddy” Blackwell and the late Lucy Maxine Phillips Blackwell. He was a carpenter and a member of White Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, Michael (Jessica) Blackwell of Pageland; father and step-mother, Quincy (Juanita) Blackwell of Lancaster; sisters, Beverly Tolbert of Westville and Candace (Mark) Aivaz of Kershaw; step-brother, Henry Terry of Chester; step-sisters, Pam (Trent) Carnes of Lancaster and Angela (Scott) Sims of Heath Springs.

Donna Joyce (Corbeil) Boggs
CLAY, W.Va. – Donna Joyce (Corbeil) Boggs, 56, of Airport Rd. Mt. Croghan, S.C., died June 14, 2007. A funeral service was held in Clay, WVA under the direction of Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home with burial in Reed cemetery.
Boggs, born in Massachusetts, was a daughter of Elaine Charbonneau Corbeil of Mansfield and the late Donald J. Corbeil. For the past 17 years, Mrs. Boggs worked for the Chesterfield County School District in South Carolina where she was currently employed as a school administrator and vice principal of Pageland Elementary School. She recently returned to Massachusetts to be with her entire family as she faced illness with courage and bravery. Her life centered around her family and her responsibilities as a devoted, passionate educator. An ardent gardener, she was well known for her “green thumb” and beautiful flower boxes.
Surviving are husband of 35 years, Michael J. Boggs of Mt. Croghan; her mother; daughters, Susan Michelle (Jason) Frigon of North Attleboro, MA and Rachael (companion Bruce Douglas) of Mt. Croghan; granddaughter, Saoirse Frigon of North Attleboro, MA; brother, Richard Corbeil of Attleboro; sister, Susan (Michael) O’Neil of Foxboro, MA; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, colleagues, present and past admiring students, respectively.

Boykin, born in Lancaster, was a son of Willie Mae Evans Boykin of Mt. Croghan and the late William Yancy Boykin.

Crowley, born in Lancaster, S.C., was a daughter of the late Reverend John William Pate and Ruby Crimmiger Pate Catoe. She was a retired employee of Stanley Tools and was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brooke McCray.

Gulledge, born in Chesterfield, was a son of the late Thomas and Leila Rollings Gulledge. He was a retired guard with the Chesterfield County Correctional Complex and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Morris, born in Chesterfield, was a son of the late John Luke and Rosa Campbell Morris. He was a retired merchant and a faithful member of David’s Grove Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 49 years. He was a member of Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #220.

Tucker, born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Jack and Nezzie Oliver Tucker. He was a retired employee of Caro-Knit with 25 years of service as lead operator. He was a member of Clanton Plains Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by sisters, Brenda Farmer and Doris Raffaldt.

Wilson, born in Florence, S.C., was a daughter of Hendrix Q. Wilson and Marlo L. Young.

Frances Rebecca ‘Reba’ McClain Rushton Williamson
HODGES, S.C. — Frances Rebecca “Reba” McClain Rushton Williamson, 93, died June 19, 2007. Funeral serviced were held June 21 at Hodges Church of God with burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Willie C. and Minnie Lee Gilmer McClain.
She was preceded in death by husbands George Bell Rushton and L.S. Williamson and also two sons, Billy Rushton and Marvin Rushton. She was the last survivor of her siblings, which included Blease, Dewey, Marion, Gilbert, Nellie and Eugenia.
She was retired from Chicola Mills in Honea Path and was a member of Hodges Church of God, where she was a member of the Silver Bells Sunday School Class and a former member of the choir.
Surviving are daughters Flo Bates, Joyce Elliott and Belle Townsend; a stepson, Bob Williamson; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, including Charity McBride, of Pageland; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

James Edgeworth
PAGELAND – James Edgeworth, 67, died June 8, 2007 at CMC-Union, in Monroe, N.C. A funeral service was held June 13 at Rose Hill Baptist Church, in Lancaster County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Edgeworth, born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Aaron Lon and Alithea Blakeney Edgeworth. He was a faithful member of the NAACP, one, of the first African-Americans to fight for equal rights in Chesterfield County. He was employed by Teledyne Allvac in Monroe, N.C., where he retired. He was a faithful member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where he was Superintendent, of the Sunday School Department, president, of Men’s Choir, leader, of the Senior Choir, member of the Pastor’s Aid and leader, of the Note Choir.
He was preceded in death by sons Branus Threatt Sr. and Frank Moore; brother Frank Edgeworth; and grandson Seneca Threatt.
Surviving are wife Mary A. Edgeworth; sons Broadus Threatt Jr., of Monroe, N.C. and Aaron Edgeworth,, of the home; daughters Drusilla (Jimmy) Moore and Anita (Dennis) Blakeney, of Pageland; brother T.J. (Barbara) Massey, of Statesville, N.C.; sisters Elois (Robert) Dunlap, of Pageland; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Martha Elizabeth Chambers Melton Kollock
CHESTERFIELD – Martha Elizabeth Chambers Melton Kollock, 68, died May 30, 2007. A funeral service was held June 2 at Grandview Presbyterian Church with burial in church cemetery.
Kollock, born in Chesterfield, was a daughter of the late James Chambers and Henrietta C. Smith. She was a graduate of Gary High School in Chesterfield and was an active member of Grandview Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and elder, president of Presbyterian Women and numerous other committees. She was a life member of the NAACP where she served on the executive board and at the local level serving as vice-president and executive committee member. She was a member of the Forest Dale Chapter O.E.S. 379 where she served as Worthy Matron for many years. She was active in the Chesterfield County Democratic Party. She was elected to the State Democratic Party Executive Committee where she served two terms. She was appointed to the Chesterfield County Election Commission by the Legislative Delegation and in 2004 was selected as a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in Boston.
She was preceded in death by brothers Jacob and Alexander Chambers, Harry and Frank Smith.
Surviving are daughters Linda (Thomas) Morman, of Rockingham, N.C. and Marietta Melton, of Chesterfield; sons Rufus (Alveta) Melton, of Charlotte, N.C. and Victor (Collette) Melton, of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister Virginia Lisenby, of Chesterfield; brothers Henry (Shirley) Small, of Hollywood, Fla. and Robert Smith, of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Plyler, born in Pageland, was a son of the late Isom and Velma Helms Plyler. He was a carpenter and member of the Carpenters Union, mechanic, building and racing autos.

CHESTERFIELD – Henry Cody Mauldin, 75, died June 13, 2007 at his home. A funeral service was held June 15 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Mauldin, born in Chesterfield, was a son of the late Leroy Harold and Theo Chewning Mauldin. He was a graduate of Zoar High School and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Northeastern Technical College. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where he was a former member of the Building and Grounds committee, Adult choir, Senior Saints and the Baptist Men’s Fellowship. He was also a member of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge 220.
He was preceded in death by son Johnny Mauldin; brothers Harold and Ted Brent Mauldin.

Tribett, born in Parkersburg, W.Va., was a daughter of the late Earl and Amelia Gale Ferguson. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by son Richard Tribett and granddaughter Amber Tribett.

VIRGINIA – Len Millis, 59, of Broadway, Va., died June 8, 2007 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held June 14, in Chester, S.C., at the ARP Presbyterian Church.
Millis, born in Salisbury, N.C., was a son of the late L.A. and Betty Millis. He was a member of ARP Presbyterian Church, an avid outdoorsman and was nationally known for his work as a turkey call maker. He was a member of Sandy River Hunt Club in Chester, S.C. and a lifetime member of the NWTF and NAHC. He was an eagle scout and enjoyed helping youth programs with hunting and gun safety education. He was employed as plant manager with Cassco Refrigerated Services in Harrisonburg, Va..
Surviving are wife of 19 years, Gwen C. Wilson-Millis, of the home in Broadway; sons James Allen Millis, of Chester, S.C. and Bradford (Jeanie) Millis, of Monroe, N.C.; sister Debra Thomas, of Greer, S.C.; nephew Jeffrey Roberts, of Broadway, Va.; grandchildren Mackenzie, Sydney, A.J. and Michael Len Millis, 3 step-children, 5 step-grandchildren and one step great-grandson. Adams worked as a part-time dispatcher for Pageland Police Department and was a full-time homemaker.

Alma J. Moore
CHESTERFIELD – Alma J. Moore, 53, died May 18, 2007.
A funeral service was held May 26 at Salem Baptist Church with burial in Chesterfield Community cemetery.
Moore was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Alma Moore. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High and received an associate degree from New York Technical College.
She was a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., and later Gouldsboro, Pa. She worked at Guardian Life Insurance and then joined New York City Police Department where she was promoted to detective and later retired from the 90th precinct. She was a dedicated member of the Brown Memorial Baptist Church, in Brooklyn, and a member of the New York City Police Department Guardian Association.
Surviving are daughter Ebony Welch of Gouldsboro, Pa.; sisters Emma Moore, of Brooklyn, and Lillie Moore of Scranton, Pa.; brothers, James Moore, of Bronx N.Y., Donnie and Bennie Moore, of Chesterfield, and John Moore, of Brooklyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and many other relatives and friends.

LANCASTER, S.C. – Olin Lee Rollings, 78, died May 25, 2007, at Kershaw County Medical Center, in Camden, S.C. A funeral service was held May 27 at the Chapel of the Lancaster Funeral Home with burial in Bethel Baptist Church, in Jefferson.
Rollings, born in Jefferson, was a son of the late John and Lena Miles Rollings. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.
Surviving are wife Sadie Eubanks Rollings; sons Randy and Mickey Rollings, of Lancaster, S.C.; brother George Rollings, of Lancaster; and half-sister Ola Boone, of Jefferson.

James Roachel Eason
JEFFERSON – James Roachel Eason, 70, died May 25, 2007, at his home. A funeral service was held May 27 at Southside Ministeries, in Pageland, with burial in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Eason, born in Chesterfield County, was a son of the late Bo and Corrina Johnson Eason.
He was a retired cotton gin operator and a member of Southside Ministries, in Pageland.
He was preceded in death by son Donald Eason, daughter Judy Wallace, grandchild Casey Ann Wright, brothers Roland, Olin, Frank, Jessie and Bo Eason and sister Rosa Lee Eason.
Surviving are wife Irene Black Eason; son James Eason, of Jefferson; daughters Debra (Tim) Melton, of Ruby, Margaret Eason, of Jefferson, and Susan Rodrigues, of Pageland; brother Joe Eason, of Kentucky; sisters Annie Eason, of Jefferson and Rhoda Vincent, of Pageland; and 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, of Chesterfield, was in charge of the arrangements.
